Prof. Dr. Immacolata Amodeo has taken up her functions as the Villa Vigoni's Secretary General on February 1st 2012.

She had been designated – according to the statutes of Villa Vigoni Association – by the Italian Ministery for Foreign Affairs and by the Federal Ministery of Education and Research and had been elected by the members of the Villa Vigoni Association.

Prof. Dr. Amodeo is Professor for Comparative Literatures at Jacobs University Bremen. Her main research topics are European Literatures from the 18th to the 21st century, resulting in various publications with a focus on migration literatures. In one of her monographs (Bielefeld, 2007) she dealt with "the operatic" in Italian and European media contexts.
